VP, Culture

Amber Fields is a culture enthusiast committed to helping businesses drive results through their most valued asset, PEOPLE. She is intentional about creating culture where people want to be a part of the mission & vision every day. Amber has been the lead culture advocate and advisor to nonprofits and business leaders in our community to help them be efficient, stay competitive, cutting-edge & innovative. She is a dynamic connector, bringing all the right people to the table to achieve desired results. She is passionate about leadership development that allows for people and businesses to reach their highest potential. She is a philanthropist who cares deeply about serving the community through building awareness, raising funds and providing resources to help organizations like Damar Services, The Dove Recovery House, Hope Anchor & Crew and other organizations.

Amber is an Indiana native and received her under grad at the University of Indianapolis. She is the podcast host of The Courageous Love Podcast. She has been married to her husband Daniel for 18 years, has five beautiful kids and resides in Fishers, IN.

Eric joined trueU to help businesses and their employees reach their full potential. He is inspired by this community of thought leading organizations focused on lifting their people; and is driven to bring other purpose-driven organizations into the trueU Community.

Eric comes to the trueU team with 15 years of results driven experience and a drive to build world-class cultures. He is a true servant leader who believes people-first organizations are the present and future for long-term business success.

When not working to drive trueU’s member growth, Eric is focused on spending time with his wife Sarah and their three children. He enjoys being active, being outdoors, traveling, sports and anything tied to healthy competition. He serves as a mentor and is a Men’s Ministry board member at his church.

Kristin Borgert

Director, Marketing & Communications

Kristin came to trueU because she wanted to live out her passion for marketing and helping business grow. She believes she is her best self when she is serving her team and the trueU Community and providing them with the tools and resources to make them successful. trueU allows her to do her best work and share her wisdom and experience.

Her role at trueU is to lead the marketing and communications strategy and help trueU companies scale and utilize trueU resources and offerings.

Before trueU, Kristin worked at Pearson Education, driving global business growth. She has more than 20 years’ experience in global marketing across technology, publishing, and educational services industries.

She is an avid Foo Fighters fan and loves live music. It stirs her creative soul! In her free time she can be found gardening, charming bees, and spending time with her husband and daughter. She serves in the community at Brooke’s Place and St. Augustine Home for the Aged.

Laura Halt

Director, Member Engagement

Laura was drawn to trueU because of trueU’s commitment to life-long learning. She believes that everyone should have the resources to develop personally and professionally as well as work in professional environments which promote safe spaces to grow. She loves meeting new people, making true connections, and growing positive relationships.

Her role at trueU is to lead the engagement team and engage with member companies to surpass their goals and to grow their employees.

Before trueU, Laura worked for the City of Fishers, connecting and engaging residents and community partners to volunteer opportunities within the city. She also has extensive community and volunteer engagement experience in the non-profit world at both the American Cancer Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana.

In her free time she can be found running half marathons, enjoying summer concerts (especially Dave Matthews Band!), hanging out with her husband and two children, and baking goodies to share with her family and trueU teammates.

Marisa Anderson

Member Engagement Specialist

Marisa was drawn to trueU because of her desire to be a part of an organization whose main purpose is to help other people become the best version of themselves.

In her role at trueU, Marisa is responsible for administration and operations of the Leader in Training Program and several other learning initiatives.

Prior to joining the trueU team, Marisa enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom for 21 years to their three children, Ben, Rachel and Will.

In her free time, Marisa enjoys all things Purdue, photography, volunteering and spending time watching her kids race a distance event on the Track or at a Cross Country course. She also has a passion for serving at Mercy Road Church in Carmel.

Jessica Smith

Member Engagement Specialist

Jessica has always loved bringing people together and sharing ideas.

She enjoys that trueU offers the opportunity to continue collaborating with so many different companies while helping others better themselves and their coworkers. She’s been accused of being too optimistic on more than one occasion but has done it with the best of intentions.

In her role as Member Engagement Specialist, Jessica helps Ambassadors develop and implement engagement plans. She LOVES to be creative and brainstorm unique and fun ideas for engagement.

Before trueU, Jessica worked for the Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown at Union Station as the Catering Sales Manager and helped organizations plan events such as fundraisers, galas, meetings and holiday parties. She especially liked being part of the Downtown Indianapolis and Hoosier Hospitality culture.

In her free time she can be found playing with her son and chasing her husband out of the kitchen while she experiments with new recipes!

Mike’s purpose in life is to lead, inspire and coach others to reach their greatest potential. As an entrepreneur, talent expert, and a highly sought after talent strategist; working in business and talent strategy, training, leadership development, and talent attraction for over twenty-five years, Mike knows how challenging growing a company can be.

Mike has worked with companies in business and talent strategy and employee development solutions across 31 different industries, helping him to refine a proven system that works for any size company or industry.

As Chief Learning Officer at DEFENDERS, Mike fueled rapid expansion for the company by casting a vision of making talent the engine for growth. Under his leadership, DEFENDERS’ Leadership & Development department was recognized by Training Magazine as the 17th Top Training organization in the world.
